Posture

Posture is how you sit and stand. Good posture is sitting up straight which with a young child, their back shows a graceful ‘S’ curve and their movements are easy and effortless. It's important to have good posture because bad posture can cause back problems. It can be so painful and you are not able to move. This is one of the main reasons why people are unable to go to work.

According to the research, the posture of some kids is getting worse. They usually play computer and video games which causes a bad effect on their spine. A new study says the way we use modern technology is giving us bad posture. That's because we usually lean forward and hunch over when we use it. It's a bad effect on our spine and can lead to serious back problems.

Considering our spine, we should sit up straight and keep regular exercise. It's very important for our health.

"The key message is to limit the amount of time you spend hunched over a keyboard and be active as often as you can." I can't agree more!

Health Expo

Last Wednesday all the AMEP students attended the Health Expo. We brought some food as a contribution. I used to bring some egg tarts but this time I wanted a change so I brought some Chinese sweet melon cakes instead. They were very delicious! I thought most people would like them and they did.

We tried to sell food and some students helped by selling raffle tickets. There were three kinds of plates: small, normal and large. I bought a normal one and could pick up five kinds of food! The food was very delicious and I liked it very much! I also  bought a raffle ticket too. But no luck for me that day.

It was a great day and I won't forget it for a long time.

My holiday and some good luck last Friday

It was a busy life for me during the holiday. Why was it busy? Because I worked nearly everyday except the 23 April. At the beginning, I planned to go to the Easter Show on the 23 April as I had done a lot of work about it  in class. It's very interesting and useful to visit especially for people who are new  to Australia. But in the end, I went to my cousin's house to play games with them and played basketball in the park instead.Although I didn't go to the Easter Show, I still really enjoyed  that day.

The second interesting thing I did that was I went to Melody's house for a BBQ.That was on Saturday. I didn't need to go to work until 5pm so Candy's husband took me and Frank to Melody's house by car.It was not good weather on that day.It rained all the time so we had to eat inside the house. It was the first time to see Candy's husband and her son. Everyone felt happy about that. However, Peter is a good cook. He prepaired all the BBQ for us and it was very delicious. We were very thankful  to Peter for what he had done for us.We talked and drank a little bit of red wine during the BBQ. It was a fantastic day for me but unfortunately Faya and Mia could't come on that day.

It was an unimaginable time for me on last Friday.Last Thursday, I went to work in my uncle's shop after school as usual. When I wanted to buy something, I found my wallet was gone! I checked all my bags and pockets but still  could find nothing.I realized my wallet could be lost or stolen by someone. My uncle told me that I should tell  the police as soon as possible because my Learner Driver License was in my wallet. It could protect me if someone useed my license to do some crimes. So I went to the Police Sation immediately. The polce told me to call the Police Assistance Line. Then I called the line and reported to the police. He said he would called me when someone found the wallet and also I should call him back if I found my wallet  myself.

On the next day, it was Friday. I went to the RTA for a replacement for my driver license. While I was filling in the form, someone called me and said some students found my wallet in TAFE. She said I could go to the security room to get back my wallet. I was really happy  when I heard that news so I went to TAFE immediately and got back my wallet. Everything in my wallet was there. Nothing was gone. That was  very kind of the teachers, students and security. I am really thankful and grateful to them. After that, I reported it to the police and the police woman said it was so lucky for me!

Earth Hour

Earth Hour was held on 26 March at 8:30 pm. On that day, people turned off the lights to save electricity. It's hard to image how much power we could save if we turned off all the lights all over the world. Actually, I knew something about this day but didn't do anything about it. As I am a member of the earth, I've decided to do the actions next year!

Harmony Day

Last Wednesday I  participated in The Harmony Day celebration in building A, Conference room. It was absolutely a great day. During the celebration, someone gave a talk about Harmony Day and a couple of students  talked about  their experiences in Australia. Then we listened to some Australian music and sang Advance Australia Fair which we had already learnt in class. Also, some Japanese students came to have a talk and collected money for the disaster in Japan. After that, We helped ourselves to food and drinks.I met some classmates and my teacher Anne when I studied in AMEP-B last term.We talked with each other happily.
I enjoyed the day and won't forget it for a long time!
