Clean Up Australia Day

Clean up Australia was created by Ian Kiernan and Kim Mckay in 1989. They created it because they worried about the pollution and rubbish in Australia, so they wanted everyone take a hand to help their country. It isn't a profit organisation and it aims at encouraging people to do their bit to clean up their local areas and makes Australia cleaner to live.
Now Clean Up Australia has became a well-known event in Australia. It is held on the first Sunday of March every year.Everyone can take part in this event. You can register a place you plan to clean up on the Clean Up Australia website. In addition, you can join the clean up activities in your local area as a volunteer. You need to bring gloves, rubbish bags, sunscreen and a hat. It is a perfect opportunity for everyone to come together and think about how we can reduce our impact to the environment.
